OUR STORY

Justin Richardson's journey started during his time as a student when he won the prestigious Craftsmanship and Design award, from The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in the City of London.

 

Justin Richardson Jewellery was founded in 2004, to be a beacon of artistry and to exemplify English craftsmanship in the world of jewellery design.

 

The Sun Street gallery is dedicated to showcasing the exceptional work of our team.

The Team

Justin

Since he was a student, Justin has been winning Craftsmanship and Design awards at one of the oldest and most prestigious livery companies in the City of London – The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. Justin Richardson studied silversmithing at Kent Institute of Art and Design, and has worked with several highly acclaimed silversmiths and jewellers. He became a Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in 2001 and has won many prizes for his work.

Helen

With a passion for jewellery Helen secured a position with The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths' on a yearlong pre apprenticeship course. This allowed her to experience all aspects of the jewellery trade, with her specialising in diamond mounting at the end of the year. On completing her 4 years apprenticeship with Justin, her masterpiece was a silver Octavo pocket watch, which was presented and approved by the prime warden of The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths’- this is now for sale and on display in the shop! Helen has found her love for jewellery design and is now the main designer for the shop. She continues to enjoy interacting with the customers and the special pieces she can help bring to life.

Liz

Liz joined the team in 2022 and enjoys the versatility of projects that are on offer at Justin’s. Having been in the trade since 18, after initially studying at the British Academy of Jewellery in London, she is keen to continue developing her skills and hone the art of Goldsmithing. She is a passionate individual with an eye for detail and finds herself drawn in particular to unusual and compelling pieces o jewellery.

Jo

With more than half her retail career specialising in fine jewellery, Joanne has had the pleasure of working in some of the most prestigious shopping destinations in London and the Southeast including Royal Tunbridge Wells, London's Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly and Hatton Garden. Passing her FGA & DGA gemmology diplomas, and CAT appraisal exam in the same year, Jo is also working towards becoming a registered valuer. Fascinated by the scientific side of gemmology and crystal structures, the identification of gemstones in the field using a few elegant field tools and knowledge is always a joy and a challenge.

Nutmeg

Nutmeg has been the keystone of  our wellbeing team since September 2020. While in the workshop, as well as her general empathy and wellbeing consultancy role, she provides a sympathetic sounding board for design and manufacturing questions. She specialises in sleeping, eating important papers and providing occasional unsolicited advice on security. She has yet to master any design or craftsmanship skills.
